My career, much like my work, has been intentionally designed. I have strategically switched roles within the design and development field, taking advantage of every professional opportunity available to expand my knowledge and support my journey of becoming a well rounded experience design (XD) practitioner and leader. I have acquired a broad-range of expertise by continuously learning and holistically developing my professional craft and business acumen.
The result of my effort affords me the ability to productively contribute to any project, at any level, and ensure my solutions are grounded with human-centered input. It’s that simple.
Like everyone, I purchase and use products and services too. Independent of the item, there is nothing worse than a poorly designed experience. With this mind-set, I approach every project with the sensitivity that if I touch it, I will ensure those that interact with my solution are delighted that someone took the time to craft the experience just the way they expect it; For them, all touch-points are intuitive, cohesive, and flow. No detail is overlooked.
Academically trained, I hold a Master of Science in Interaction Design and Information Architecture, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication Design. This provides grounding in the theories and science behind the work that is required in the field of human experience design.
Simultaneously, I am aware that real-world constaints such as organizational maturity, budget, time-to-market, and other factors often influence the work that can be done on a project. While still ensuring success, here is where I excel - ensuring the right effort and techniques are applied at the right time throughout the project lifecycle to achieve measurable results that lead to success.
